MAY NOON MEETING
The noon meeting for May will be held at the Conewango Club on Tuesday, May 27th.
The program topic is “Bees in the United States”, to be presented by Raymond “Zeke” Stanton.
JUNE NOON MEETING
The noon meeting in June will be on Tuesday, June 10th, at the Conewango Club because of the “Steak Fry” evening meeting. The program will be presented by Lion Therese Wheaton, our ambitious district Leader Dog chair/person from the Conneaut Valley Lions Club.
INTERNATIONAL CONVENTION
This year’s International Convention will be in Toronto, Canada. A bus chartered by Lions is going from Albion. You can still arrange a seat! They would like for you to join them. See Lion Angie Dart for details. She and her husband are planning on going with them. This is probably as close as the international convention will ever be to us.
STATE CONVENTION
The State Convention is now history. Held in the Greentree area of Pittsburgh, International President Barry Palmer spent most of the convention with 400 or more Lions and guests from all over the state, who took advantage of several interesting training sessions, became acquainted with the varied projects of Lions from around Pennsylvania, and just had a good time. In addition, the fabulous Lions’ sponsored band of school musicians entertained all with two concerts on Saturday.
WEENIE WAGON SCHEDULE
The Weenie was put into service at the Gus Macker program last week-end. All slots were not filled, but some Lions had to fill in with overtime to make it a success. The next commitment is set for the “Liberty Rocks” program in downtown Warren on Thursday, July 3rd.. A sign-up sheet will be available at next week’s noon meeting. This is one of our best money raisers! We need all slots filled. SIGN UP!
STEAK FRY UP-GRADE
This year’s annual Steak Fry Picnic will offer an extra meat available, and a different chef. Don Wells has been hired to prepare 6 oz. steaks or you may choose his famous ¼
Chicken Bar BQ, and he will prepare the whole meal for us. Beverages will not be included, so you should plan to bring your own, but table service will be included so you don’t have to bring your dishes. Price remains the same at $20 per person, and spouses or significant others are invited, too.
The date is Tuesday, June 24th at Betts Park.
OFFICER INDUCTION
Induction of the new club officers will take place at the annual picnic on Tuesday, June 24th at Betts Park. All officers should plan to be there.
BOARD MEETING
This year’s Board of Directors will hold their final meeting at 6:30 P.M. on Tuesday, June 3rd, at the 1st U. Methodist Church. All Board Members are expected to be there. All Lions are welcome to attend this meeting, but only the officers can vote.
