NONE SCHEDULED AT THIS TIME - CONTACT US BY EMAIL

WHY YOU NEED TO BE TESTED FOR DIABETES:
In the United States alone there are over 18 million people who have been diagnosed with diabetes.  It is estimated that there are another 5.7 million people who are unaware that they have diabetes.  Undiagnosed, diabetes can be very damaging to the body.  A screening test can detect diabetes.
Diabetes and Sight Loss:
People with diabetes are at risk of losing their sight due to Diabetic Retinopathy.  This is the leading cause of new cases of blindness in people between the ages of 20 to 74.  Other complications include Glaucoma, Kidney damage, Coronary artery disease and Nerve damage.

The free screening uses a tiny drop of blood taken from the finger to give a blood glucose level.  The test is only a snap shot of your blood sugar level at the time of the test.  IT IS NOT A DIAGNOSIS.  Follow-up with a doctor is encouraged as indicated.  A POSTCARD WITH BLOOD GLUCOSE LEVEL RESULTS is given to each person tested.
It only takes a few minutes.
All ages are welcome.

YOUNG PEOPLE ARE ENCOURAGED TO BE SCREENED.  Minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

SYMPTOMS INCLUDE: Frequent infections, Blurred vision, Cuts/bruises that are slow to heal, Tingling/numbness in the hands/feet, Recurring skin, gum, or bladder infections, Frequent urination, Unusual thirst, Extreme hunger, Unusual weight loss, Extreme fatigue and Irritability.  OFTEN PEOPLE WITH TYPE 2 DIABETES HAVE NO SYMPTOMS!
