Computers4Kids (C4K) Project

The one and only focus of the Reno Cigar Lions Club was and continues to be, providing computer systems with a quality, open source, education based software package, to children.  The club has not only been successful in meeting their goals, but also provide a comprehensive tutorial when distributing the computer systems.

The Computers4Kids (C4K) project is more robust today than ever, having distributed almost 7,000 computer systems to local children since it’s charter.  Partnerships are formed with local entities such as county government, hospitals, state and federal agencies, to receive computers that have been replaced or refreshed.  Local schools, as part of the ED Alliance, become formal Partners in Education with the Reno Cigar Lions, where they provide a set number of student to receive computers on a monthly basis.

Reno Cigar Lions Club members work tirelessly to receive, clean, load software, set up and distribute computers at our monthly C4K giveaways.  Members of our club routinely post the highest number of volunteer hours than any other club within District 46.

The Reno Cigar Lions Club is not a fund raising club, surviving on limited donations and the grace of their membership.  By partnering with the community, the RCL have made an impact on the community that is unsurpassed!
