The O'Fallon/Fairview Heights Lion Club is:

    A member of the Lions of Illinois Foundation. The Lions of Illinois Foundation is involved and funds activities dealing with Low Vision Clinics, Camp Lions for Blind & Deaf Youth, Camp Helen Keller for Adults; also in Social Services and Referrals, a Hearing Aid Bank, Infant Hearing and the collection of used Eyeglasses and Hearing Aids. The Lions of Illinois Foundations and the Lions Clubs throughout the State of Illinois work together with but one objective: To meet the needs of individuals in Illinois with visual and hearing problems.

     A member of the Regional Eye Care Committee of Southern Illinois (RECC), providing therapy and/or surgeries to the indigent population within its geographical area of coverage.

    A member of our Lions Club heads the team that raise the funds for the District's "Open Area Program" and in addition, the Club provides a volunteer shift coordinator and purchases tickets for "Showtime - a circus for the handicapped children.

    A member of our Lions Club is an officer on the Executive Board of Gateway Lions & Partners, a partnership formed by RECC and District 26A Lions Eye Care Committee with the Medical Providers and Universities within the Greater St. Louis Region, providing timely assistance to the indigent population, in therapy and/or surgeries. In addition, Gateway Lions and Partners has use of UMSL- School of Optometry Sight Van at LensCrafters' facilities, and as scheduled with School Districts, the Area Agencies on Aging (Senior Centers) and District 1-CN Cabinet through its "Open Area Program".
