JDog Junk & Hauling

The guys at JDog put out the call and neighbors, friend & Lions answered. Our club contributed a portion and the bulk of the items cam from neighbors and friends of JDog. We were there this morning to assist in the loading before 4 trucks and Army Veterans headed to the Houston area with the supplies and manpower.

Goldman Sachs

Lions often partner with other organizations to "serve." And that's just what the Northeast Tarrant Lions of Tarrant County, Texas did recently when they received donations of clothing, bedding and household items from employees of Goldman Sachs at their Irving, Texas location.

This was the fifth annual Summer Charity Drive by the people at Goldman Sachs and the result was awesome. As a result of their efforts, the Northeast Tarrant Lions received an estimated 11,500 household and personal items which were contributed to the PTA Clothes Closet and the Food Bank of the Hurst-Euless-Bedford (Texas) Independent School District.

Contributions included 8,090 diapers, 1,250 packages of wipes, 797 pair of underwear, 519 pair of socks, ten twin-sheet sets, seven twin comforter/blankets, 15 standard-sized pillows, 457 bath towels, 277 wash cloths, and 106 pints of jelly.

The contribution came just as the Clothes Closet and Food Bank were getting ready for the beginning of a new school year.

Joyce Rider, who operates the Clothes Closet was elated. She said, "This comes on a Friday. On Monday, I had 40 client families coming for clothing, and there were some things I did not have for them, until the Lions showed up at the door with all these things. Just in time to meet our needs."

Northeast Tarrant Lions utilized seven vehicles to move everything from the Goldman Sachs building in Irving to the Clothes Closet in Euless, Texas.
