Message from your District Governor

Greetings Lions of 20-Y,

Even after discovering new horizons, meeting the challenges of the pandemic, and continuing to provide the light of hope for those in need, we never once forgot why we are Lions. Like never before, we are united in kindness and diversity. Our district has continued to serve from the heart. Our leaders built a solid foundation from which to grow. We remember their inspirational messages "A New Beginning," "Shining Your Light '', Working Together," and "Listen to the Grassroots and Grow."

You, the Grassroots Lions are integral to our strength, growth, and success. We work together to build a team, build a vision, build a plan, and build success. We have a process to pull this together called the Global Membership Approach. This process is helping rejuvenate districts with new clubs, revitalize clubs with new members, and retain current members through fellowship and exciting service. You are making this happen right here in District 20-Y. After our new year kicks off, we’ll share even more information about the District Governor project at the Golisano Children’s Hospital, the Fall conference at the end of October, and many more exciting events and celebrations.

We each have powerful, heartwarming stories to share. A young man received a vision exam and eyeglasses. He was able to continue to work and provide for his family. This example is one of many stories touching lives and enriching our communities. We truly fulfill our motto: “We Serve”. Because "Sharing Your Story" is so important and influential, my pin is the shape of a book. It's also a tribute to my parents, Lion Father Richards, and my nursing career, hence the angel, eyeglasses, and heart. I encourage you to open your heart to others by sharing your story.

I look forward to working with you to help strengthen and grow our district as a team.

International President Sheehan says, "Together We Can," and I say, Together We Will!

Yours in service,

DG Sheree Vora
