Observing 74 Years of Lionism
In Livingston, Texas
For the 125 members of the Livingston Lions Club, their weekly meetings are much more than an opportunity to network with other fellow Lions. It’s an opportunity to improve the quality of life for the poor, the sick, the handicapped and the aged; share community news and a good meal; as We Serve.
From President Kathie Freeman:
This Livingston Lions Club has been in existence in Polk County for 75 years and it is a great honor to serve as your 75th President. I am humbled by the past presidents and members of this great club.
This club has helped so many people see our world through corneal transplants provided by our continued support of Lions Eye Bank of Texas. This club has contributed over $7500 (annually) locally to enable our citizens to make better lives for themselves and their families through providing eye glasses to the young and old alike.
We have supported our local youth through scholarships, donating to Polk County Youth Rodeo, Boys and Girls Club along with many other organizations. Our club has made contributions to the Polk County Civic Center for the betterment of our community. We've seen cheers of delight from children with our Christmas tree sales and contributions to the Empty Stocking Program.
Our continued support of Polk County citizens is noticed and appreciated by all. Over the last 15 years, this club has contributed more than $350,000 to Polk County citizens. This is quite an accomplishment and commitment to this community which we proudly serve.
We have current members who have been members for over 60 years! This is why this club continues to thrive in our community. Livingston Lions Club truly reflects our motto "We Serve".
I can personally attest to the support this club offers to its members. During the loss of my husband and son-in-law during the month of June, our members offered their love and support. This is not only a club but a community of caring and loving members.
Thank you, Livingston Lions, for the honor of being your President during this 75th Anniversary of the club.
