Meetings

Observing 80 Years of Lionism
In Livingston, Texas

For the 110 members of the Livingston Lions Club, their weekly meetings are much more than an opportunity to network with other fellow Lions. It’s an opportunity to improve the quality of life for the poor, the sick, the handicapped and the aged; share community news and a good meal; as We Serve.

From President Kim Brown Jernigan:

It is an honor and privilege to serve as the 2022-2023 President of the Livingston Lions Club. I was
invited to join our club by a co-worker in 2016 and have managed to maintain perfect attendance each year thus far. I have made lasting friendships with many of our members, and I serve with pride.

The Livingston Lions Club serves our community in various ways, such as fundraising, donating monetaryfunds and through service projects. We also serve as advocates to the blind and visually impaired, collecting eyeglasses and providing vision services to those in need.

Each year, we have several fundraisers to raise money to give back to our community such as the golf tournament, Christmas tree sales, annual fish fry, and a fall outdoorsman raffle.

We make annual donations to approximately 20 clubs and organizations in our community and as well as scholarships. Some of those include, but are not limited to, CASA, Boys & Girls Club, F.A.I.T.H. Military Support Group, Making Sports Possible, G.R.A.C.E. Pregnancy Outreach, Godtel, SPCA, Childrenz Haven, and Center of Hope. We also make donations to Texas Lions Camp, Lions Club International and natural disaster relief across the world.

As Lions, we are willing and anxious to give our time, energy, and resources in service to others.

I strive to be the best leader and role model for our club and lead by example. I hope to maintain our current membership and grow our club by adding new members. Serving our community and spreading Lionsim to others is key! Working alongside our officers and members, this is certainly achievable.

I look forward to a fun and exciting new year as your president and I am grateful for this opportunity!

Yours in Lionism
President 2022-2023
Kim Brown Jernigan
