SOCIAL EVENTS

Our charter this year was definitely not a black tie affair as we created a Thai theme for our guests with a thai buffet . A great evening had by all, thanks to our committee.

In between organised social events we try to fit in meals and low tech events where we can just get together. We had our president's handover at an Indian restaurant in Stafford.

Our immediate past president Lion John Beswick has entered for a charity triathlon on July 21st. We all wish him well and will be welcoming him home at The Navigation Inn in Gnosall.

On August bank Holiday Monday we are having a family fun day at The Navigation Inn, with a bouncy castle, bbq, and lots of games. Pray for good weather.

CHARITY EVENTS

Our annual golf day was a big suucess, 25 golfers, good weather, bacon baps and drinks courtesy of Lions Pam and Pat, and raising over £700. Thanks again to Lion Rick for making it a marvellous day for all.

Foxfield Steam Railway provided the annual location for a fun day organised by North Staffs Lions Clubs for children with disabilities and their families. A good day had by all, well attended and the weather just about held up for the day.

As part of World Sight Week in October we are having a Sight Walk in pairs with one of each pair blindfolded around Gnosall, on 16th October, with a similar walk on the next day just for our club with a meal to finish.

Charity events planned for later in the year will include our Last Night of the Proms evening on 6th October.
