October 8, 2016: 50's Dance. Many thanks to all attendees and donors who made our annual dance a great success! Our net profit of nearly $900. will again be used to purchase clothing for area children in need. We hope to see everyone at next year's Dance on October 14, 2017.

August 13, 2016: 2016-17 Club Officer Training/District Reorganization. New District 14-T Governor John Mallonee spoke about his goals for the upcoming Lion year - "Going the Distance for Service". He also presented the new International President's theme - "New Mountains to Climb".

July 27 - 30, 2016: GVFC Carnival. Lions were everywhere during the carnival. We ran the Bingo Pavilion, several games and the Basket Barn.
July 26, 2016: Dinner meeting. Our speaker was Anthea Stebbins who gave a presentation on the East Hanover (Dauphin county) Comprehensive Park Plan. Guests included Jonas J. Walmer Scholarship winners and their families.

July 12, 2016: Business meeting. The East Hanover Lions club feted their oldest member with a cake, flowers and card shower in honor of her 90th birthday at their business meeting July 12, 2016. Lion Eloise (Weez) Walmer joined the club in December 2004 and rarely misses a meeting or club event. She is currently the chair of our Scholarship committee, handles the sending of care and concern cards, organizes the hosts of our business meetings, and regularly mans the "cash register" at our food sales.

June 23, 2016: Annual Picnic. Although the picnic was moved inside due to weather, food and friendship were plentiful. Guests included our non-member "helpers" and elementary student of the fourth marking period (Dauphin county) and his family.
Individual members brought baskets to be donated for the Grantville Fireman's Carnival. The basket at left is the start of our official Club basket donation - "Bird Basket".
May 24, 2016: Dinner meeting. Election of club officers for 2016 - 2017. Lion Jim Foose (New Bloomfield Lions), District 14-T Beacon Lodge Liaison, spoke to us about the camp, campers and Beacon Lodge Appreciation Day.
April 27, 2016: Dinner meeting. We enjoyed the elementary students of the third marking period and their families. Our program was provided by District 14-T Historians - Lions Rick Waltz & Stephen DeFrank (Paxtang Lions Club).

April 26, 2016: Primary Election Day. Several members worked at the polls or sold food to hungry voters.
April 16, 2016: District 14-T Convention. 6 members attended the convention held this year at the Holiday Inn, Grantville. They attended seminars, delivered our clubs donation of school supplies and recyclables at the "Stuff the Bus" service project, and enjoyed the Rally Night banquet.

April 1 (no fooling!), 2016: Bowling for Diabetes. 15 members and friends had a fun evening at the Palmyra Lanes. A donation will be made from the club for diabetes research. Thanks to Lion Kerm for coordinating this event again this year.
Update: The club contributed $250. to the diabetes project. With additional contributions from members a check for $300 will be sent.

March 29, 2016: 65th Charter Night. DG Salli, 1VDG John, 2VDG Kathy and "Lucy" were among the 50 plus members and friends who gathered for the party. It was a full evening. Following an expansive buffet dinner widows of passed club members were recognized and given gift baskets. Non-member "helpers" were also recognized for their contributions. DG Salli inducted three new East Hanover Lions - Lions Barb & Ira Bloom (sponsor Lion Shirley Huber) and Lion Harold Hetrick (sponsor Crist Espenshade).
Lions Eileen & Paul Longreen were presented their 15 year chevrons. Lions Josie Moyer & Don Espenshade received the President's Appreciation awards.
Lion Eileen Longreen was named Lion of the Year.
Entertainment followed by Keith Brintzenhoff - PA German Folk County songs & humor.
Lion Don Espenshade wrapped up the evening with some wonderful door prizes.
A good time was had by all.
March 20, 2016: Central Pa Callers Assn. Square Dance. East Hanover Lions had plenty of food for sale and even had a Lion ready and able to fill in a "square".

March 19, 2016: East Hanover Township Bunny Breakfast. Lions helped the Park and Rec. prepare and serve breakfast for township residents. We also provided gifts for the children.

February 23, 2016: District Governor Annual Visitation. We welcomed DG Salli A. Miller ,2VDG ("Lion Mom") Kathy Fouse and "Lion Lucy" to our dinner meeting. DG Salli spoke to us about International President Yamada's message of "Dignity. Harmony. Humanity." The club presented her with a check for $1800. for her District Governor projects. DG Salli is challenging the clubs in her district to make 20 origami cranes each, symbolizing IP Yamada's theme, and was truly surprised when we gave her a birdcage filled with over 100 of the paper birds.
DG Salli also officiated at the induction of two new East Hanover Lions - Edward and Miriam Fake, sponsored by Lion Betty Espenshade
Capping off a full evening, committee co-chairs Lions Nancy Gamber and Molly Gumpher presented awards to the elementary students of the second marking period from East Hanover Dauphin and Lebanon schools.
January 30, 2016: East Hanover Township Indoor Yard Sale. The club made $375 in food and item sales to benefit our projects.

January 26, 2016: Dinner Meeting. The Lions enjoyed a game of "Lions Jeopardy!" designed by King Lion Lisa and Membership committee members Lions Josie and Shirley.
December 2015: On Dec. 5 members traveled to Lancaster to attend the American Music Theater's Christmas show and enjoyed a good meal at the Linden Diner . Dec 15 the Lions wrapped clothing and presents for area children in need at their business meeting.
November 24, 2015: Dinner Meeting. District 14-T Veterans Affairs chair Lion Joel F. Leckron spoke to the club about ways to help and honor veterans locally and world wide.
