A Brief History of the East Hartford Lions Club   

The East Hartford Lions Club was organized January 16, 1950.  The Club Charter was sponsored by the Hartford Host Lions Club.  Today, the East Hartford Lions Club meets the 1st and 3rd Mondays of the month.

The East Hartford Lions Club has been actively involved in making the Town of East Hartford a better place to live and work.

Some activities include:

  • Support local youth projects
  • Provide Food Baskets in December for residents in need
  • Collect used eyeglasses and hearing aides
  • Sponsor the Lions QUEST Program for 7th grade students
  • Support East Hartford based projects, such as the Library and Food & Fuel Bank
  • Provide Vision Screenings for Pre-School Children
  • Support the Lions Low Vision Center and the CT Lions Eye Research Foundation
  • Sponsor a Leo Club
  • Provide scholarships for higher education

Dedicated men and women, who enjoy good fellowship, develop leadership abilities, and give their free time to help those in need in their community, their state and the rest of the world.


To believe that the world can be made a better place, by creating and fostering a spirit of understanding among all people by promoting the principles of good government and good citizenship and by taking an active interest in the civic, cultural, social and the moral welfare of the community.


TO EMPOWER volunteers to serve their communities, meet humanitarian needs, encourage peace and promote international understanding through Lions Clubs.
