A Brief History of the East Hartford Lions Club   

The East Hartford Lions Club was organized on January 16, 1950.  The Club Charter was sponsored by the Hartford Host Lions Club.  Today, the East Hartford Lions Club consists of over 30 members who meet on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month.

The East Hartford Lions Club has been actively involved in serving the Town of East Hartford.

We SERVE 

  • Support local youth projects such as the Little League Baseball 
  • Annual Holiday Food Baskets in December in collaboration with the Town's Social Services and Schools  
  • Collect used eyeglasses and hearing aids that are sent to help those in need. 
  • Sponsors the Lions QUEST Program geared to middle school grade 6 through 8th grade students
  • Annual MLK Book Drive contributing books to the town's library 
  • Contribute to the Food and Fuel Bank
  • Provides Vision Screenings for Pre-School Children
  • Support the Lions Low Vision Center and the CT Lions Eye Research Foundation
  • Provides scholarships to High School students for higher education.
  • Annual clean-up project on a site within the town 

WHO

 East Hartford Lions Club -Dedicated men and women, who serves wherever is needed in East Hartford, the State and Globally.

WHAT 

A club dedicated to serving the needs of their community focusing on 1. Vision 2. Diabetes 3. Hunger 4. Childhood Cancer and 5 Environment.

WHY

With the belief that the world can be made a better place, by creating and fostering a spirit of understanding among all people through the promotion of the principles of good government and good citizenship, by taking an active interest in the civic, cultural, social and the moral welfare of the community and being philanthropic role models.

Mission

To Empower volunteerism within our communities, to meet humanitarian needs, to encourage peace and promote international understanding through Lions Clubs.
