CHARTER HISTORY
of the Lions Club of Bangkok Rama District 310-E THAILAND
 

About 35 years ago, a group of young people who have the same ideals from different professions such as bankers, financiers and businessmen, engineers, government officials, industry and others, In the working ages of 25-45 years, have devoted themselves to serve social peers, the unfortunates using intellectual capacity and the time that will allow them to help the underprivileged in society.

In the vast social, there are many activities conducted by many persons which does not good enough, an idea to conduct activities in group then is created. An opportunity is provided when a young Lion Vichien Triwongpaisarn (Lion Kvich Thammisorn) who has the knowledge, ability and good leadership and especially truly loves being a Lion under the Lions Club Bangkok Chinatown at that time, explained the incorporation and powerful version of one of the association's charitable activities of providing effective community services which is the International Association of Lions Clubs.

From the beginning to practice the correct steps from the charter members to many senior Lions, such as Lion Kajit Hubhananonda, Lion Sunai Ratchatharuk, Lion Boongerd Charoengsiriwat and Lion Wongs Chattaphongs.

Lions Club Bangkok Rama was officially chartered and certified by the International Association of Lions Clubs on 30 August 1982. Club number 06812 District 310 Thailand. There are 34 charter members and Lion Vichien Triwongpaisarn is the club charter president, which is also the same year as the celebration 200 years Bangkok.

When the club was chartered, the charter members have worked hard in order to build all the actions comply with the correct principles, achieved the goals and expanded the initiative to establish a foundation. Having Lion Panich Chaiseri the former president and one of the charter members (deceased) as a consultant and managed in the early period. Activities in which the club has held including the campaigns for funding in various forms, as well as doing community services in many areas every month resulting the Lions Club of Bangkok Rama becomes widely renowned and accepted in society.

In year 1984, Lions Club of Bangkok Rama has successfully established a Lions Club Women Bangkok Rama and had Lion Narong Thammawarakup (deceased) the club past president and club charter member as a club charter consultant and mentor, under the leadership of Lioness Yachit Yuwaboon (charter president of Lions Club Women Bangkok Rama) and more than 30 Women club members. Activities of both clubs joined forces under a motto “WE SERVE” of Lions and “WE SERVE TOO” of Lioness.

In year 1992, Lions Club Women of Bangkok Rama combined with the Lions Club of Bangkok Rama (with a resolution of the International Association of Lions Clubs) making the two Clubs have joined forces to work both in community services and services. And in the same year, the Club established a Lions Rama Foundation successfully by a cooperation of the president, the past presidents, the fiscal year president and the body of the Club members by Lion Panich Chaiseree as the first Foundation president. This is the second Lions Club Foundations of the Association of Lions Clubs Thailand.       

For more than 35 years ago, Lions Club of Bangkok Rama has been managed by 30 formers presidents and 8 formers Women Lions Club presidents. We have strict policies to conduct community service activities effectively and reached the goals of the Club as followings;

1. Help them to help themselves
2. Create people to be men
3. Promoting activities for social consistency and national security

Practice complying with the purpose of the compliance and ethics of International Lions Association without regard to any political or religious ideology.
