Who Are Lions?
Lions meet the needs of local communities and the world. The 1.35 million members of our volunteer organization in 207 countries and geographic areas are different in many ways, but share a core belief – community is what we make it.
Dr. Jeanne Qvarnstrom, Sul Ross faculty and Alpine Lions Club member, describes "Share Peace" competition details to Alpine seventh graders as Alpine Middle School teacher, Joyce Downing (left) observes. Alpine seventh and 11th graders will be submittied original responses through essays or art posters. The contest ran from Oct. 1-31 with winners announced and works were on display during Alpine's annual Art Walk, Nov. 20-21. Winners were:
Essays Middle School: 1st Place - Amelia Bailey, 2nd Place Justyce Foley, 3rd Place Andre Rodriguez
Essays High School: 1st Place - Catherine Ritzi, 2nd Place Cierra Lambrix, 3rd Place - Andrea Cadena
Art Posters Middle School: 1st Place - Brandon Rice, 2nd Place - Brady Crump, 3rd Place - Dionee Payne
Art Posters High School: 1st Plac e Andrea Cadena, 2nd Place - Brenda Miller, 3rd Place - Brenda Miller
Sul Ross State University Professor Carol Fairlie coordinated the art judging and Professor Laura Payne coordinated the essay juding.
