Need assistance paying for eyeglasses/hearing aids?

Our club places top priority on assisting needy individuals with sight/hearing problems. We work with ACTS (Area Churches Together Serving) to identify qualified individuals and to assist them with their sight or hearing problems. We help cover some of the cost associated with doctor examinations and eyeglasses/hearing aids. If you feel that you might qualify for assistance, refer to the process section below for additional information. You must be an Aiken resident. Residents outside of Aiken should call 1-866-325-4667 for possible assistance from other SC Lions Clubs.

The Process

  1. Contact ACTS through one of the following methods:
    • Visit them at their facility at 340 Park St, Aiken SC orACTS Office
    • Call them at 803-642-5919 or
    • Fill out an on-line form at actsofaiken.org/contact_us
  2. Complete the financial aid form provided by ACTS.
  3. If ACTS determines that you are qualified, they will notify our club, and a club member will get in touch with you.
  4. Our club member will inform you of the amount of financial aid the club will be providing and the cost to you (if any). If you elect to go forward, the club member will work out a schedule with you for doctor examinations and fitting of eyeglasses or hearing aids, whichever you require.
