As do health officials, we recommend anyone who can be fully vaccinated and boosted do so.

Those of our guests who have not completed their vaccinations and recommended boosters should wear a mask.  We would appreciate that.

There are masks and sanitation supplies available.

Vision is one of the five global causes of the Lions International Organization and close to the heart of Lions everywhere. Spot Vision exams for children, eye glass recycling and the Leader Dog program are just some of the vision initiatives  we champion.  
The Prodogi Desktop Reader is state of the art. The unique and affordable desk top reader makes seeing and reading comfortable and efficient for those with low vision and arthritic hands. Membership in the Lions is a fulfilling way to give to the local community as well as fellowship with other like-minded members of the community. 

Early detection and treatment of vision disability needs to priority number one. Experts say that roughly 80 percent of what a child learns in school is information that is presented visually.  So good vision is essential for students of all ages to reach their full academic potential.  Also, a child with an undetected or untreated vision problem is more likely to develope social or emotional problems and fall behind in academic achievement. Fifty percent of behavior problems in schools are due to vision issues.

After the age of 8 there are a number of vision issues that cannot be corrected.

Spot is a fast, portable, easy to use screening system designed to quickly detect several vision issues in children as early as 6 month to adult.  The device captures in one second or, which makes screening efficient and especially effective with non-verbal children.

Spot's sophisticated technology can quickly detect the indication of near-sightedness, far-sightedness, unequal refractive power, blurred vision, eys structure problems, pupil size deviations, and eye misalignment.
