Our Latest Projects
Pill Bottle Collections
Lions Mary, Kathy and Mike are busy collecting and packing pill bottles that will be donated to the Matthew 25 Ministries. The pill bottles will be sent over to 3rd world countries to enable doctors to put pills in a sanitary container. Lions, instead of tossing your used pill bottles, bring them to a Lions meeting or contact Lion Mary, Mike or Kathy. Help the environment by not adding to the landfill and provide a container for patients to store their medicinal needs. Our last delivery of pill bottles amounted to over 500 bottles.
Aloha Zoo trip
We hosted 18 blind individuals to the aloha zoo. It was a fun event and a joy to watch. Thanks to all our volunteers.
Trunk or Treat
We participated in the Carolina Lakes Trunk or Treat event. Costumes and people were great!
Stuff the Bus
We collected lots of supplies for local children. Last year Over $2000 in goods and cash were collected to support our schools.
Camp Dogwood
Blood Drive
The Red Cross and the Lions sponsored a Blood Drive on Oct 14, 2024. A great success. 45 Units of blood were collected! 15 Years straight. We have collected over 500 units now!
Leos Activities
Leos Help at the Buddy Backpack once a month for our local schools. They also help with the monthly clean up of trash pickup along our main road to Carolina Lakes
Helping Neighbors
One of our Lions noticed that his neighbor could not easily walk down to his dock and enjoy the lake view. He had broken his hip and never fully recovered. His neighbor told him he could not get a contractor to come out and put in a railing. In October Lion Darrell and his dog Bailey set posts and built a railing for him to use to get to the dock. He can now easily walk down the slope and get to the dock. He and his wife have enjoyed rekindling their tradition of spending an hour each day on the dock.
2024 Western Harnett Golf Tournament
Our major fund raiser for the year. We use raised funds to support blind services in our community. A great success even though we had rain for the first time in a long time! Thanks to all our sponsers, the golfers and the volunteers. Mark your calendars for Septemeber 2025. See you then.
