In November, the Waynesboro Lions Club celebrated their 95th anniver sary by collecting diapers to help re plenish Waynesboro Community and Human Services’ diaper bank. We had a goal of collecting 950 diapers for our 95th anniversary and we crushed it! The club was able to do nate 1,490 diapers along with 20 packs of wipes. To give you some per spective, last year WCHS distributed 1,296 diapers so our contribution will surely help! Thank you, Lions!!
During our November meeting we also had the pleasure of hearing from Pam Anderson about our local Town Canes. In addition, we celebrated a few milestones. The Club was awarded the Club Excellence Award for 2023, Pearl Robert was given the Guiding Lion achievement, and Lions Doc Podboy, Dave McCarney, and Karey Singley were recognized for 65 years, 45 years, and 10 years of club service respectively.
We are looking forward to our Holiday Party being held on Wednesday, December 11th at the Waynesboro Country Club. The special being served that night is lasagna. Guests are encouraged to wear an ugly Christmas sweater and Santa hat. Don’t forget to bring along your favor ite ornament! We will be playing holiday themed games and writing out Christmas cards to a local nursing home for those that won’t be able to see family over holidays. See you there!
