The Warkworth Lions Club was Chartered in February 1966 . It maintains a mixed gender membership of 20+ .

The club is very active in the community and members are involved in a variery of activities during the year.

We have a proud history in the community and a walk about the town sees many projects that the club members have been involved in over the years.

Among the club projects and activities are the annual Take a Kid Fishing for children up to 12 years, The Kowhai Festival (the club was a founding member 50 years ago) ,Mahurangi Winter Festival of Lights  (founding member), Young Ambassadors and Young Speechmakers. We are also active in a Food Rescue scheme which supplies food daily to the local food bank.

In 2020 we were focused on an appeal for the Australian Bushfires and have been able to send over $22,400 to LCIF Australia.

In June 2021,the club took on being the lead in the Starship PICU appeal. This had a goal of $406,700 to provide an additional Paediatric Intensive Care Unit at the Starship National Children's Hospital. Total raised was $431,700.
