2019/2020 "LION OF YEAR"

Above with Immediate Past President Kevin Woodley Iis Lion John Plimmer "2019 /2020 LION OF THE YEAR".

Waikanae Lions has  been around since 1973.  Currently we have 49 plus members  who come from all walks of life. We are an enthusiastic bunch and enjoy good company and having fun while helping our community.

New members are very welcome, so if you would like to join us or know more about Lions please contact one of our Lions listed in the "Contact Us" section or email :

The Club has a very proud history of supporting  the Waikanae community which enjoys a high level of participation in our projects,  whether it be the giant  Super Garden Trail, our garage sale or the fertiliser drive that has distributed on average 11 tonne of fertiliser to Waikanae gardeners in the last few years.... no bull!

In addition to our own specific projects, we also strongly participate in the annual combined Kapiti Lions Book Fair which has available in excess of 60,000 books for sale in October of each year. In 2019 the book fair raised $37,000 which will be shared between the five Lions Clubs in Kapiti for distribution to their nominated charities.

The Club meets for its regular Tea Meetings on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month at the Waikanae Community Hall in Pehi Kupa Street Waikanae at 6 pm.
