Who are Victoria Markham Square Lions?

We have proudly served the community since last Nine years!

Victoria Markham Square Lions Club (VMLSC) was formed on April 04, 2011 to serve the communities of Markham and Richmond Hill area. Our members are very different in many ways, but we share a core belief - our community is what we make it.  That's because we help where help is needed.  In short, We Serve!

Our main objectives are:

• To provide assistance to Under Privileged Children.
• To provide food for Hungry Children globally.
• To Support the youth programs in our community.
• To promote talent and support needy students through grants and awards.

“It is a great pleasure to represent Victoria Markham Square Lions Club consisting of new immigrant members who want to integrate into the Canadian culture of giving back to community in our new home ”Canada”. Serving the community is a great experience and provides a lot of life learning lessons. All club members are taking time out of their busy life to serve the immediate local needs as well as participate in international causes thru Lions Club International. My belief is that when we are on right track, we will achieve our destination and destiny later or sooner. With support of our selfless volunteer members, we are achieving the goals set by our parent organization”

Highlights of Activities performed in 2019 -2020

• Donated Food for Homeless in Toronto, in December, 2019.
• Helped in organizing and distributing food during “Hindu Heritage Month Celebration” at Markham City Hall on 5^th November, 2019.
• Participated in Canada day parade organized in Markham on July 1^st,2019.
• VMSLC was lead participant and BBQ host for Diabetes Canada project of “Walk a Thon” on Sunday June 9^th, 2019.
• Volunteered and helped in organizing Biking event in Newmarket.
• Spring planting of shrubs at premises of Hindu Cultural Society, Scarborough.

Highlights of Activities performed in 2018 -2019

• Provided more then 500 hours of volunteering services to community.
• Donated $1000 cheque to Diabetes association.
• Received Lions Club Excellence award for 2017-2018.
• VMSLC Received recognition from LCIF Centennial service for meeting Challenge for Diabetes.
• Organized Gala 2019  In June , 2019 in support of Hospital for Sick Kids.
• Donated $14201  to Sick Kids foundation on 4^th July, 2019.
• Donated more then 300 pairs of eye glasses and frames on May 13^th, 2019.
• Successfully organized clothes donation drive in support of value village on April, 20^th 2019.
• Food Donation was organized by VMSLC member and food    was donated to Markham food bank on 23th February, 2019.

     The Success of our club always depends upon ability and the genuine desire to service every human being in our community and globally. We can only meet these goals with joint efforts, with full cooperation and better understanding amongst us as a club. We also make sure fun is part of our activities as we serve .We do so by having monthly Lion family meet and greet meetings.
