Town of Sheboygan Lions Club Scholarships

  • Three scholarships will be awarded to applicants enrolled in a program leading to a 4-year degree at an accredited traditional university.
  • Applicants must be a resident of the Town of Sheboygan.
  • The applicant must demonstrate good citizenship.
  • The applicant will be required to return all parts of the application by April 16, 2021.

 

Art Schnell Memorial Scholarship

  • One scholarship will be awarded to applicants enrolled in a program at an accredited trade/technical college.
  • Applicants must be a resident of Sheboygan County..
  • The applicant must demonstrate good citizenship.
  • The applicant will be required to return all parts of the application by April 16, 2021.

 

    A completed application will include all of the following:

    _______  Narrative (on a separate sheet of paper in 12 pt. font double spaced- please limit to 1000 words or less.)  

The mission statement of Lions Club International is "To empower volunteers to serve their communities, meet humanitarian needs, encourage peace and promote international understanding through Lions clubs".  This mission statement is embodied by the phrase "We Serve".

How have you demonstrated Lions philosophies in the past? How are you demonstrating them today? How will you continue to demonstrate them in the future, considering your educational goals and/or the career you will soon be pursuing?

      ______ Worthiness Narrative (on a separate sheet of paper in 12 pt. font, double spaced- please limit to 500 words or less.) on why the applicant is applying for and would be a worthy recipient of this scholarship.  

The Town of Sheboygan Lions Club Scholarship Committee will make the final selection, with approval of the club.

Four $1000 scholarships will be awarded.

  • 3 will be dedicated for applicants enrolled in an accredited 2 or 4-year traditional university
  • 1 will be dedicated for an applicant enrolled in an accredited trade/technical college

A representative of the Town of Sheboygan Lions Club will announce the recipient at the schools annual scholarship program if requested.

 

Method of Payment

  • The scholarship will be paid directly to the student.
  • The payment will be made after proof of registration and enrollment has been sent to the Town of Sheboygan Lions Club.
