Tennerton Lions Cub 2024-2025 President
Lion Nicholas Cutright

Nicholas “Nick” Cutright was born in Elkins, WV and grew up in Buckhannon, WV, where he graduated from Buckhannon-Upshur High School in 2011 and West Virginia Wesleyan College in 2014 with a B.S. degree in Accountancy. He also holds a Diploma in the Mortuary Arts and Sciences from the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science (PIMS). He is employed as a Funeral Director and Embalmer at his family’s business, Heavner & Cutright Funeral Chapel.

When not working or participating in Lions activities, Nicholas and his wife April enjoy a leisurely life on their farm in Ivy (Upshur County) and together they attend St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church in Weston, WV. Nicholas also serves as Secretary/Treasurer of the Mt. Hope Water Association and is a Fourth degree Knight of Columbus (Elkins Council and Our Lady of the Mountains Assembly).

He is the grandson of 50+ year Lion Robert “Bob” Heavner who, along with the late Lion Bill Stankus, prompted Nicholas to join the Tennerton Lions Club over ten years ago. In his time as a Lion, Nicholas has been Vice President, President, Membership Chair, as well as co-chair of the Pancake Breakfast organizational committee. He has also received the following accolades from his fellow Lions: Lion of the Year (2019), Leonard Jarrett Award, and a Melvin Jones Fellowship. One of his favorite activities as a Lion is the Adopt-a-Highway Road Clean-Up. He comments that it’s a small effort that makes a large impact.

Nicholas returns in Lions Year 2024-2025 as President and hopes to lead the club towards his goal of: “Educating ourselves so that we may serve and help others.” In order to do that, Lion President Cutright works to commit individuals and groups to Lions meetings to speak on a range of topics from diabetes to eyesight and local and state issues to community poverty and hunger. “Roar Lions, Roar!”
