Sidney Lions Club
The Sidney Lions Club was sponsored by the Victoria Chinatown Lions and was chartered on June 27, 1964.
Since 1964 the Sidney Lions Club has offered people like you the opportunity to give something back to their communities. From involving members in local Lions projects to bringing sight to the world's blind and sound to the hearing impaired. Lions clubs have always welcomed those committed to building a brighter future for their community.
Our work for those in need in our own communities, across the country, and around the world depends on the involvement of a new generation of Lions.
Our seniors, our youth, people with vision and hearing problems, and other disadvantaged who need our help. We will do all we can to help so please reach out to us.
By participating in the Sidney Lions Club, you can help meet the needs in your own community. Reach out at sidneylionsbc@gmail.com for a rewarding and fun volunteer opportunity where you will make a difference.
Our main fundraising project is a mobile kitchen that we take to Sidney Days, Tourquemasters, BC Aviation Museum open house, Saanich Agricultural Fair, Christmas gift giving drive, Tree Shredding and Bottle Drive, and more.
The Sidney Lions Club is actively involved in our eyesight program, annual Christmas hamper and gift giving drive, Christmas tree shredding, Saanich Peninsula Lions Food Bank, and others.
Some of which we contribute to is the Sidney White Cane Society, Shawnigan Lake Lions Easter Seal Camp for the physically challenged, Peninsula Hospital Foundation, Sidney Guides and Scouts, Youth Employment Program.
In 1917 the Lions organization was started by Melvin Jones. The main project, through Helen Keller, was to help the blind. There are now Lions Clubs in 210 countries and geographic areas with 1.3 million members. On Vancouver Island, there are over 50 clubs and 1200 members. Why don't you check us out and see if our causes would be a good fit for you!
