SARTELL AREA INCLUSIVE PLAYGROUND PROJECT

three Lions Clubs (all based in Sartell-St. Stephen School District 748), the City of Sartell, School District 748, and Parents are partnering to Design and Construct an Inclusive Regional Playground at Sartell Lions Community Park in Sartell MN. This project will address an aging, traditional, non-inclusive playground in the Park and the lack of any Inclusive Regional Playground in the Sartell MN area. o The City of Sartell and School District 748 endorse this project o The main goals and objectives for this project are:

o To create a Playground with a surface suitable for those with mobility needs as well as adaptive equipment

o To provide an outlet of play for Sartell’s school age children with disabilities o To enable children of ALL abilities to play together

o To allow children with disabilities to be more engaged, more independent, less isolated, and to develop their skills (social, motor, communication…)

o The three Sartell-area Lions Clubs propose to accommodate the needs of the growing City of Sartell and the feedback from Sartell-St. Stephen School District 748 by partnering with them to create an Inclusive Playground (within the already existing Lions Park with its paved walkways and continuous handrails

Please join us for our Community Kickoff on May 22nd at 2 PM at the Sartell Blue Line.  Join us for food, raffles and fun while learning about the inclusive playground project.
