Meetings

Ironically named "Sundown" Lions, the San Angelo Sundown Lions Club is a small, dynamic club of 21 members.  Sundown Lions meet for breakfast at 6:30 a.m. and get business done before most people have hit the snooze button for the third time.  Weekly meetings are informal and followed by an interesting and informative program.

Sundown Lions raise thousands of dollars each year to support worthwhile activities, charities and young scholars.  During the six months ending Dec. 31, 2009 the Sundown Lions contributed substantial amounts totaling over $8,600 to the following:

  • Five Scholarships ($3,000)
  • Project Dignidad
  • Texas Lions Camp
  • Eye Exams and Glasses
  • Fifty Thanksgiving & Christmas Meals
  • American Cancer Society (Relay for Life)
  • Eye exams and glasses
  • Catholic Outreach Charities
  • Boys & Girls Club of San Angelo
  • Harry Wikershap Golf Tournament
