2. SSI LIONS CLUB WHEELCHAIR BOUND MEDICAL BUS SERVICE

Salt Spring Island Lions are proud to sponsor the Wheelchair Bound Medical Bus Service which provides ground transportation out of home to and from medical appointments for those wheelchair bound Salt Spring Island residents. The bus can accomadate most regular manual and electric wheelchairs.( three (3) wheeled chairs may be accomadated however overstuffed wheelchairs will not). The "bus" services covers SSI, Duncan, Victoria and Naniamo areas. *see list below* The passengers must have a current Travel Assistance Form (TAP) completed by a Dr./Dentist to access the BC ferries pass for off SSI excursions. Escorts can accompany the patient but will have to pay the cost of ferry. Please note as this is a medical only service we cannot make at any non-medical stops. ie; Groceries, Drycleaning etc.

To arrange a drive please contact our coordinator/driver long time Lion volunteer Don Cunningham. He can be reached (250)537-2983 9:00AM-8:00PM 7 days a week.

Route list: Victoria General Hospital, Royal Jubliee Hospital, Saanich Penninsula Hospital, Cowichan Regional Hospital, Naniamo Regional Hospital, Queen Alexandra Solarium - Fischer Bldg., Hillside Hospice, Lady Minto Hospital and any other Medical/Dental appointments on Salt Spring or within Victoria, Duncan, Naniamo areas.
