This old water wheel was recovered by the Rolleston & Districts Lions Club members in June 2018

The water wheel was mounted in the water race, that flowed down Railway Rd along side the West Coast Railway line, on its way into a manmade reservoir between Jones Rd and the Main South Rd.
It was used to pump water from the reservoir to the railway water tanks for filling the steam locomotives.
