The name Lions stands for Liberty, Intelligence, Our Nation’s Safety.
The River Falls Lions Club is a vibrant organization that strives to strengthen the community by improving the health and well-being of our residents and supporting those in need. We staunchly support Lions International’s mission of encouraging peace and international understanding to impact lives globally. Lions International is the largest service organization in the world, with over 1.4 million members in 200 countries.
If you like to have fun while making a difference in the community and the world, we are your service agency. We meet only nine times a year, on the first Tuesday of the month at noon, September through May. We spend most of our time working on projects and raising money for good causes. There are plenty from which to choose!
*We provide financial aid and pack food for Our Neighbors’ Place homeless shelter.
*We conduct vision testing for all school children
*We transport eye tissue when requested
*We provide funding and a picnic for Camp Needlepoint, a camp for children with diabetes
*We collect eyeglasses, hearing aids, ink cartridges, cell phones, and empty prescription bottles.
*We provide clean, empty pill bottles to the Free Clinic of Pierce and St. Croix Counties
*We participate in the Caring and Sharing Families Christmas program
*We plant trees on Arbor Day and maintain city parks
*We clean up our stretch of the highway as part of the Highway Cleanup Program
*We provide funds and organize an annual Easter Egg Hunt
*We operate a Duck Race to raise funds
*We host a garden tour to raise funds……and so much more.

Purpose
The Lions believe in club meetings where good fellowship and harmony prevail;

In broad participation in an international program of brotherhood and fellowship, based upon service wherever the need exists without personal reward;
In service to humanity without thought to race, creed, nationality, religion, or politics;
In the ultimate leadership of Lionism, but not at the expense of or in conflict with the programs of other organizations, which, with different methods, seek the same goal of unselfish service to mankind.
Goals
- To secure and retain active members.
- To augment the health affairs of the community by assisting in areas not adequately supported by other sources.
- To participate in community service and civic affairs.
- To support the objectives of Lions International.
- To educate and inform our members and the community about goals, activities, and community service.
- To have a financial plan to support the above goals
