Redditch Lions Club
Centennial Tea Party

Celebrating 100 years of
Lions Clubs International

20th September 2017
White Hart Inn, Headless Cross

About the Tea Party ------  We celebrated 100 years of Lions Clubs International, and Redditch Lions membership of that community service organisation.

The venue was the Crown Green Suite at the White Hart Inn.  Tea, Coffee, sandwiches and cakes were offered to invited guests. There was also music and entertainment.

The party was by invitation only and it was a sellout

and a great success.

Lions Clubs International

The first Lions Club was formed by Melvin Jones, a Chicago businessman who wondered what would happen if his luncheon club members put their talents to work improving their community.  This simple concept was taken up by other clubs, first in the USA, and later across the world.  Now there are more than 46,000 Lions Clubs world wide, with more than 1.4 million members - Lions who just want to serve their community.  How’s that for a 100 year old idea?

Redditch Lions Club

Redditch Lions Club was chartered in 1972 and is now in its 45th year serving the community of Redditch.  The Club meets regularly to organise fundraising activities to support its work, and also social events for members.  The Club is a registered charity.
