About The Ramsgate Lions

The Lions Club of Ramsgate was officially chartered in 1986. This year celebrates 38 years of service to the lower south coast community of KwaZulu Natal, South Africa. We are part of the International Community of Lions which comprises of over 45,000 Lions Clubs and 1.4 million people around the world all working to improve the lives of their communities.

As part of the District 410E we are a small but growing, friendly club who really believe in and carry out the International Motto “We Serve”. We pride ourselves on being a hands on club and work hard in our local community from Margate down to Port Edward supporting those people who are less fortunate.

Our service covers many areas of need such as a regular highly successful monthly food collection at our local mall, testing for diabetes, eye tests in primary schools, entering local schools in the international art peace poster competition, renovation of local crèches, carols by candlelight and Christmas parties for childrens’ groups including those who are HIV positive and have lost parents through AIDS but to name a few.

Of course as well as all the hard work we do we also ensure we have time to have some fun. We have enjoyable fund raisers such as selling Breakfast Rolls, Coffee and Tea at various events from time to time. We also meet socially on a regular basis either eating out locally or going to a members home for a bring and braai. We are a club that is growing and we are always looking for individuals who like us want to be part of the greatest service organisation in the world.

If you think you could give a little of your time each month then why not contact us and find out more about what we do. You won’t regret it and you will gain immense satisfaction from helping those who are in need.

Lions Clubs International is the world's largest service club organization with more than 1.4 million members in approximately 46,000 clubs in more than 200 countries and geographical areas around the world.
