Portugal Cove - St. Philip's Lions Club serves a town of 8300 on the island of Newfoundland and works with Clubs in its Zone and District to support various Lions projects including the Lion Max Simms Memorial Camp and the District N-4 International Service Project.

- provision of over $65,000 for wheelchairs, assistive devices and technology for disabled children in our town;
- we partner with the Royal Canadian Legion and our municipal Council to sponsor the annual seniors dinner;
- we are active in support of our 2 community schools;
- we award a cash prize, plaque and honourary Life Membership in the Lion Max Simms Camp to Grade 4 and 9 students who exhibit humanitarian traits in line with those of Lionism;
- we support families in need of financial assistance;
- we support members of the blind and disabled community;
- we participate in our town's Christmas Parade, Winter Carnival, Festivals and Regattas;
- we donate to support food hampers at Christmas;
- we collect and recycle thousands of donated eyeglasses for the Canadian Lions Eyeglass Recycling Centre.
