WHO AND WHAT IS YOUR PISMO BEACH CITIES LION CLUB

Pismo Beach Cities Lion Club was established in 1945. Our Charter President Joe Rose was also the first mayor of the City Of Pismo beach. President Rose was instrumental in establishing a solid relationship between the Pismo Beach Lions Club and our community of Pismo Beach. Under his direction, the Club helped re-charter the City of Pismo Beach, placed street signs and house numbers enabling the U.S. Post Office to begin delivery of mail to homes. He was instrumental in the construction of the Mary G. Harrington Park, the Ira Lease Park, and the Ira Boosinger Park in Pismo Heights. Joe served for fourteen years as Pismo Beach City Mayor and City Councilman.

We have had many great Presidents serve Pismo Beach Lions Club and currently in the 2014 year, his daughter is carrying out the family tradition and became our first woman President. Keeping our motto, "Find a need and fill it" , Connie helps direct the club and honor the Lions tradition of community service.

We hold many pancake breakfasts, hall rentals, bartend special events, that help us in our fundraising efforts towards eye-care for the needy, recycle eye glasses and hearing aids for third world countries, fundraise for The Noor Foundation, Support Canine Companions, support the Lions Eyesight Trailer that provides eye-exams to students across the county from Paso Robles to Arroyo Grande. Monies are also raised and donated for Slo Food Bank, SLO chapter of NAMI. We also give over $2500.00 in local scholarships for high school students.

Pismo Beach Cities Lions Club is always welcoming new members that are looking to serve the community! Contact one of us on the officers page to attend a meeting or get more information!
