PENBROOK LIONS COLLECT & DELIVER CHRISTMAS TOYS FOR THE MANNA FOOD PANTRY CHILDREN

The Penbrook Community Garden was shut down in mid November 2025 and very soon thereafter the snow covered the plots. However, the Penbrook Lions and Leos took on an additional project for Manna—to deliver joy and toys to the children. And so, for three weeks in December, they collected toys, stuffed animals and games and delivered full boxes each week. The Manna volunteers expressed their gratitude with their exuberant smiles. Tis the season for caring and thinking of others, especially the children.Volunteers needed to water, weed, harvest, etc. Contact Lion Tammy at Tammymarie7@hotmail.com

The Penbrook Lions are looking for a few kind kids! We want to hear about kids age 18 and under being kind! Perhaps, they mow grass, shovel snow, or carry groceries for their neighbors. Please email and tell us about this kind kid! You can also submit their name in the Kindness Matters box on the bookshelves in the Community Buitding.

PENBROOK LIONS WELCOME PENBROOK AMERICAN LEGION POST 730 COMMANDER ROBERT PRAMRIK

At the Penbrook Lions Club meeting on November 13, 2025, we had the privilege to have
Penbrook American Legion Post 730 Commander, Robert Pramik, a Vietnam War era
disabled veteran, in attendance. The Commander shared with us the past and present status
of the Legion. Penbrook Legion was established in 1944 in Penbrook but later moved to
Susquehanna Township, where it is currently located. In years past the organization fell into
financial difficulties, however since 2024 they have been able to address these problems and
are now on better financial footing. Currently the Legion offers a restaurant environment to
Legion members and the general public. This provides some income along with various other fundraising efforts. The Penbrook Legion offers services to veterans such as helping them identify and receive Veteran Administration services and provides an environment for veterans to socialize with other veterans. The Commander also shared with us some of the Post’s long term goals, such as building renovations, increasing membership, and eventually re-committing to charitable public entities. The Penbrook Lions Club shared with Commander Pramik its efforts into honoring Penbrook veterans with a "Heroes" program where we would post banners honoring our veterans or other public acknowledgements. The Commander agreed to assist us. It was quite an informative evening as we learned about the Legion’s past and present and began cultivating a mutually
beneficial relationship between the Legion and the Penbrook Lions. The Lions
presented a $100 check to Commander Pramik for the Penbrook Legion.
