The Palm Bay “Happy” Lions Club was chartered by Lions Clubs International on May 29, 1975. Our current membership of 24 members consists of residents of Palm Bay and Melbourne, Florida.
The Palm Bay “Happy” Lions Club is a service organization of community minded individuals pooling their talents and treasures for local and State needs. Our motto is "We Serve". We provide eye glasses and hearing aids to those who are unable to afford them. We raise funds and utilize these to provide food packages and food pantry donations to those less fortunate in our community. On a broader prospective we provide financial support to Florida Lions Outreach programs such as an eye bank, training for seeing eye dogs, an educational school for the blind, and sight related surgeries.
“Happy” Lions give freely of their time to assist the local schools in eye screening, as well as provide free public screenings for diabetes. In addition, several members volunteer their time to benefit the community such as volunteer at the Melbourne Hospital, volunteer at food pantries, deliver food for the “Meals on Wheels” program.
Club meetings are the first and third Tuesdays of each month at 12 noon at Dottie’s Restaurant, 5275 Babcock Street NE, Palm Bay, 32905.
Membership is by invitation only after an applicant has attended two of our meetings.
