WHO ARE THE OKC NORTHWEST LIONS?

We are members of the OKC Northwest Lions Club, one of many grouped under Lions Club International, where we enjoy fellowship and dedicate part of our time to service those in need.  Since 1961, the club has a long tradition of serving the community with many charitable projects in this area and at the State, National, and International levels.

WHAT SPECIFICALLY DOES OUR LIONS CLUB DO?

Our motto is "We Serve". The club's continuous working projects are:

  • Adopted Hilldale Elementary School. The club donates funds to the school for their Reading is Fundamental Program , makes visits to interact with students, and provides gloves, mittens, scarves and coats at Christmas time.
  • Sponsors each yr - Two $2000 scholarships to Seniors High School in the OKC NW Lion Cub area. Ministered by and through The Oklahoma City Community Foundation
  • Collect used eyeglasses for recycling
  • Oklahoma Lions Meadows of Hope - Foster care near Perkins OK
  • Oklahoma Lions Eye Bank
  • OK Lions Mobile Health Screen Unit
  • The Central OK Salvation Army's - "Bucks 4 Bikes Campaign"
  • Parade of Flags -The club completed a Parade of Flags project on the east shore of Lake Hefner along the drive leading to the Oklahoma Lions Children's Park area.  The schedule of dates are shown on the "Club Project Page".
