...An Inside Look at the North Warren Lions...

Exciting times are ahead as we look to expand our club membership by creating a Club Branch.  The Club Branch is perfect for individuals who are looking to make a difference in their community but are stretched for time.  Interested?  Contact our membership chair, Bob Brandt.

One of our ongoing projects, which upholds the fundamental ideals of Lionism, is our eyeglasses donation drive to New Jersey Lions Eyeglass Recycling, located in West Trenton, NJ.  The glasses donated here are distributed to those in need in developing countries, where eye care is often unaffordable and inaccessible.  Closer to home, the foundation provides free eye exams as well as free glasses to those in need.  Along these lines, we annually give service to Camp Marcella, in Rockaway Township, NJ.  Camp Marcella "provides a safe haven for a healthy and enriching experience for visually impaired children." [1]  As Lions, we dedicate our time to cleaning and readying the camp for its summer campers.

We are proudly affiliated with the North Warren Regional LEO Club.  The NWR Lions and the LEO's regularly team together to accomplish service projects in our small, rural community as well as in the larger, surrounding neighborhood.  With twice the manpower, ideas on ways to get involved are twice as potent and the opportunity to provide crucial support to those in need is nearly limitless.

We recognize that the future of Lionism rests with younger generations.  We, therefore, strive to support, encourage, and recognize academic achievement, community service, and citizenship by our community's youth by offering two $1,000 scholarships to graduating high school seniors.  Selection occurs from a pool of applicants who are upstanding members of the community, who share our intrinsic devotion to serve, who possess a strong scholastic motivation, and who participate as active citizens of the North Warren Community.

A proud co-sponsor of the Centenary University Campus Lions club
