LIONS CLUB OF MODERA-MATTAKKULIYA,

The Lions Club of Modera-Mattakkuliya was inaugurated in January 1975. Sponsored by the Lions Club of Kotahena and Lions club of Colombo East. The Charter presented on 2^nd of May 1975.
22 Charter members were led by Lion Roy Jayasekera as Charter President.

The Club has been honoured by the District over the years.

The highest position offered is the post of Cabinet Treasurer.

Many other Lions holding District Cabinet posts were:

* Deputy District Governor
* Zone Chairperson
* Region Chairperson
* District Chairperson and
* Chairperson Convention Steering Committee
* Co-chairperson Registration Committee.

LEO CLUB ACTIVITY:
The youth of the area were recognized by sponsoring a Leo Club. The Leos excelled in every sphere of activity. They won number of awards at the District Contest and held the post of Council Chairperson for several Years. Number of them have Joined the Lions Club and performed well.

As at now, the club in existence for 42 Years of Service to the Community.
