Lions Clubs worldwide differ in ways they operate their fund raisers and projects however, these facts are known by all Lions Members and are the basis of all  Clubs. Lions are the LARGEST SERVICE ORGANIZATION in the world.

MISSION STATEMENT: To create and foster a spirit of understanding among all people for humanitarian needs by providing voluntary services through community involvement and international cooperation.

OFFICIAL COLORS: Purple and Gold (although sometimes portrayed as Blue and Gold)
       Purple represents loyalty to country, friends, to one’s self and to the integrity of mind and heart.
    It is the color of strength, courage and dedication to a cause.
       Gold symbolizes sincerity of purpose, liberality in judgment, purity in life and generosity in mind, heart and commitment to mankind.
 
OFFICIAL EMBLEM: Our Logo
       It consists of a gold letter “L” on a circular purple (or blue) field.
      Bordering this is a circular gold area with two Lion profiles facing away from the center.
       The Lions face both past and future – showing both pride of heritage and confidence in the future.
       The word “Lions” appears at the top
       The word “International” at the bottom.

THE LION NAME: 
Founder, Melvin Jones researched the idea of calling the new organization Lions. He was convinced that the lion stood for strength, courage, fidelity and vital action.
