Lions Clubs International Vision Statement To be the global leader in community and humanitarian service. Mission Statement To empower volunteers to serve their communities, meet humanitarian needs, encourage peace and promote international understanding through Lions clubs. The Marysville Lions Club’s Carnival provides service and funding for projects benefiting the residents of Marysville and Rye Township. What does the Marysville Lions Club do? Provides and maintains 37 acres for the resident’s use which includes a walking trail, 2 acre pond for fishing, seven baseball/softball fields. Awards annual scholarships to High School Seniors Purchases eyeglasses for needy individuals Sponsors Boy Scout Troop and Cub Scout Pack 56 Sponsors Baseball and Softball Programs Sponsors youth Leos Clubs for Middle School age children in the Marysville and Duncannon area and at the Susquenita High School designed to develop leadership and community awareness in the youth. Sponsors the Marysville Lioness Club who work in association with the Lions Club and are equally dedicated to providing service projects Makes annual donations to various community organizations Among many community events, the Lions Building & grounds are used for the annual Community Children’s Christmas Party with gifts, Santa Claus, entertainment and free snacks. Annual Community Children’s Halloween Party with prizes and free food items and the Annual Children’s Easter Egg Hunt. Supports various Lions projects naming a few: Diabetes Research and Education, Lions Beacon Lodge Camp for the Blind, Adult and children Vision and Hearing Screenings, Northeast PA Lions Eye Bank.
