About Us
The London Next Generation Lions Club was founded in 2024 to foster a vibrant and forward-looking service organisation that supports the development of future leaders while making a tangible difference in our community. Initially established as a branch of the Chipping Barnet Lions Club, we became an independent entity on May 27, 2024. This milestone marks our commitment to serving the local community and aligning ourselves with the values and ethics of Lions Clubs International.
With over 20 years of experience in Lions Club activities, our founding president has led the club’s growth, guiding us from an initial group of 12 dedicated members to a dynamic independent club that now actively contributes to both local and global initiatives. The London Next Generation Lions Club is proud to be part of Lions District 105A, and we are committed to upholding the ideals of service, leadership, and community impact.
Our Mission
The London Next Generation Lions Club is dedicated to serving the community, supporting charitable causes, and promoting the core values of Lions Clubs International. Our mission is to:
Empower Through Service: We support our communities by working alongside other Lions Clubs to address local needs and global challenges.
Foster Leadership: We provide our members with opportunities for personal growth and leadership development through active involvement in service projects.
Encourage Collaboration: By working together with other Lions Clubs, we strengthen our collective impact and contribute to the success of broader Lions initiatives.
Promote Integrity and Compassion: We approach all our service activities with honesty, transparency, and a deep commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of those who need it most.
Our Activities
Since our formation, the London Next Generation Lions Club has been dedicated to creating opportunities for service, engagement, and collaboration. We focus not only on supporting our local community but also on working in partnership with other Lions Clubs within Zone F and District 105A to amplify the impact of our efforts. Key activities and initiatives include:
MasterChef Cooking Demonstration (Christmas Theme): We hosted a festive cooking demonstration to bring together members and the community in support of charity. The event was both educational and fun, while raising essential funds for ongoing projects.
Vegan/Vegetarian Cooking Session: A session designed to promote sustainable eating, with a focus on plant-based diets, all while raising awareness and funds for important causes.
Fundraising and Community Support: Our club has been actively involved in organising and supporting various fundraising initiatives, including sponsored charity walks and picnics, as well as hosting fun-filled afternoons with engaging games to engage both members and the wider community.
Zone F Collaboration: In collaboration with other Lions Clubs within our Zone F, we have supported multiple initiatives that strengthen the Lions community and extend our reach to those in need. Our collective efforts have included charity walks, community picnics, and shared fundraising events.
SQUAT Challenge: A team-building initiative that also raised awareness for mental health issues, encouraging members and their families to participate in activities that promote personal well-being.
Mental Health and Wellbeing Support: We’ve hosted workshops and wellness events focused on mental health awareness, supporting both our members and the wider community in navigating the challenges of modern life.
Winter Warm Clothing Distribution: In partnership with local charities and community groups, we have helped distribute warm clothing to vulnerable individuals and families during the winter months.
Food Kitchens and Distribution: Our club has been involved in providing meals through local food kitchens and distributing food to those facing hardship, ensuring no one goes hungry during critical times.
Christmas Presents for Children: To bring joy during the holiday season, we organized a Christmas present drive for children in local schools and hospitals, ensuring that children who might not otherwise receive gifts had something to look forward to.
Support for Other Clubs
As a relatively new but rapidly growing club, we take great pride in our role as both contributors and supporters of the broader Lions network. Our commitment extends beyond our own initiatives, and we are deeply invested in the success of other Lions Clubs in District 105A and beyond. By collaborating with other clubs in our Zone, we have worked to create synergies that enable us to achieve greater outcomes together.
We are also actively involved in supporting the development of other Lions branches, offering mentorship, resources, and sharing our experiences to help fellow clubs grow and succeed.
