Lawton Noon Lions Club
Annual Scholarship for
Cameron University/Great Plains Technology Center
Mission Statement
The Lawton Noon Lions Club supports students at our local university (Cameron) and the Great Plains Technology Center through its scholarship program. The scholarships will be awarded to those individuals considered by the Scholarship Committee to be most deserving based on academics, ability, and civic activities.
Eligibility Requirements
Students must be enrolled full or part-time at either Cameron University or Great Plains Technology Center. Members of the Lawton Noon Lions Club or their relatives are not permitted to apply.
Criteria for Scholarship Selection
The scholarship will be awarded to that individual considered by the Scholarship Committee to be the most deserving based on academics, ability, and civic activities. Application deadline is July 1. Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.
Preferences
Historically, Lions Clubs have had a particularly strong commitment to assisting the visually impaired and promoting visual health and research. Visually impaired students and students planning careers health-care fields will be given preference, but all students are encouraged to apply.
Amount of Award
The scholarship award is contingent on available funds and averages around $1,000. The scholarship is not automatically renewed: applicants must apply each year if they wish to be considered.
