Lions Clubs International began in 1917 as the dream of a Chicago businessman who believed that local business clubs should expand their horizons from purely professional concerns to the betterment of their communities and the world at large.
The Lakeville Lions Club was chartered in 1943 and has been serving the Lakeville Community for more than 80 years. Our service takes many forms. We help feed the hungry through our Christmas Food Basket project and our support for local food pantries. Our Toys for Tots project makes Christmas brighter for children in needy families in our community. We sponsor two Scout Troops and a Cub Scout Pack. We support 4-H, FFA, and academic and athletic programs in our local schools, and provide dictionaries to third graders in several schools. These are just a few of the many ways we work to meet the needs of our community.
The Lakeville Lions Club also supports the state-wide programs of the Lions of Indiana and the global disaster relief and humanitarian services of Lions Clubs International Foundation.
Our motto, “We Serve” perfectly exemplifies our dedication to helping those in need in our local community and around the globe.
Lions Clubs International is the world's largest service club organization with more than 1.4 million members in approximately 46,000 clubs in more than 200 countries and geographical areas around the world.
