What is a Lion?

Our members are men and women who strive to make a difference in our local community and the world. Our volunteer efforts go beyond just support for vision care, we also address community needs such as: food for the needy, youth activities, senior support, community activities and our furry friends at The Lions Dog Park on the island.

  • As a Lion club member you can:

    • Make a difference everyday in your community

    • Provide support locally or reach out internationally

    • Grow personally and professionally by participating in our programs, community service projects and events

  • Have an impact on local and international humanitarian issues

  • Develop relationships with local and international community and business leaders.

                              About us:

The Daybreakers Lions Club of Lake Havasu City was chartered on May 24, 1999 and over the years we have kept the motto "We Serve" at the forefront of all our activities.  We do not believe bigger is better and try to keep our membership between twenty and thirty, large enough to "get things done" but small enough to develop true friendships.

    What we do:

We encourage our winter visitors, both Lions and potential Lions, to become involved in your adopted community.  We have numerous people from the northern states and Canada who meet with us during the winter months.  If you are a member of Lions International then YES you can keep coming to meetings. Oh, you are not a member of Lions International? No problem, we can help you become a member of the International Lions Club.  You are under 18 years old and want to join? We got you covered there too! We have Leo’s Lions International.

Highway Clean up

We do have a section of HWY 95 that we clean up. Again if you are under 18 your parent(s) or legal guardian must be with you in order to pick up trash. This is a great opportunity to not only help our city be clean. Want to help us out? Send us an email and will save your information for the next highway clean up.

Highschool Scholarships (Knights of Excellence)

Throughout their senior year of high school, the seniors are working hard at finding what college is right for them and what they want to go to college for. However most of them are asking how in the world am I going to pay for college? Do not worry, the Lake Havasu Daybreakers Lions Club along with other local clubs grant a limited number of scholarships. The students have a guideline they must follow in order to apply for the scholarships. Then the Lake Havasu Daybreakers Lions Club go over all the applications. We pick a very limited number of applications. At the “Knight of Excellence” some of us present those winners with all needed information to get their scholarship. This year we have had a few students write us a letter and express their gratitude for our donation to the college of their choice.

 Winter Blast Pyrotechnics Show

Winter Blast is an annual fireworks extravaganza. Spectacular display of colorful fireworks. Professionals who show off the latest advances in their craft, culminating in a huge show in the evenings, here in Lake Havasu. February 12-15. We help with the parking.

This is a cash only event.

New Horizons

We host two Holiday parties for New Horizons. Last year was our first time hosting this new annual event. We hold on in Spring and the second is in Winter. Not only do we have a blast with this event, but the members of New Horizons also enjoy this great event. This spring not only did the Easter Bunny show up or Mayor Cal Sheehy made an appearance. We had a great turn out from our local business to help us put on this event. We want to give a big

THANK YOU to the following business:

  • Home Depot

  • Safeway

  • Wal- Mart

  • Papa Leone’s

  • London Bridge Resort

Without the help of our amazing business we could not have done it without you.

Daybreakers Lions Dog Park (Island)

We have worked hard with our local parks and recreation to create a play place for dogs. This is located at the Bridgewater Channel on the Island. Just after you cross over the Famous London Bridge you will see Javelina Cantina & The Heat Hotel. Just by the basketball courts you can find your furry friends' new play place. Not only is it fenced in but there are pools for the dogs, water bowls, shovels and doggie bags available. There are donation boxes within the park no it is not required to pay to play but if you have a few bucks or even change drop it in. That helps us pay for our doggie bags, shovels, pools and bowls. The Park and Recreation team keeps the yard mowed and trees taken care of. So the park may be closed while they are doing the maintenance. Please be patient while they are keeping it clean. Do you have an old shovel, dog bowl, toys, kiddie pool? Bring them down to the dog park and we will use them.  Do you see an issue with the dog park that needs our attention? Please free to reach out to us at :
