The La Grange Bluebonnet Lions Club was established in 1988 to provide the women in the community with an organization that would not only raise money for local charities, but would become part of the largest service organization in the world. For thirty years the ladies have tirelessly served the community.
Monthly meetings are held the third Thursday of the month at 17:30 at The Randolph Center, 653 East Pearl Street, La Grange, TX. Annual membership dues of $80.00 are paid to District and Lions International programs. See Lions International information on right for list of sponsored programs.
Some of The Bluebonnet Lions local service projects include KidSight eyesight testing of children six months to six years for early detection of vision problems, collecting recycled eyeglasses to be refurbished and distributed world wide, and providing wristbands to Sacred Heart for their Drug Prevention Week. Contributions are regularly made to the local food bank and animal shelter. Scholarships are presented to high school graduates for college and technical school.
These projects are primarily funded by the Bluebonnet Lions delicious and locally famous Fall cheeseball and Spring cash raffle sales.
