Welcome to the Kutztown Lions Club!

We were founded June 22,1939.

We started the first ambulance service in 1943 for the Kutztown Community.

In 1945, we started a Fair Stand in Kutztown Fair Grounds to help fundraise.

In 1950, we developed our famous Dutch Fries in our Fair Stand.  Over the years, people come from all over for our fries.

We support our community by:

  • KidSight testing,
  • Charitable donations to the local Fire Company, Historical Society, Library, and numerous other community programs,
  • Vision care and maintenance including eyeglass collection and recycling,
  • Collecting food for the local pantry,
  • Scholarships, and
  • Various projects for the community such as Adopt-a-Highway Program.

In 2024, we started our legacy in education.  We created a scholarship endowment in Kutztown University's Foundation for the Visual Impairment program.  The visual impairment program at KU is very grateful for the Lions Club’s Support,” said Dr. Nicole Johnson ’05, professor of special education. “This gift will have far-reaching effects to help recruit teachers of the visually impaired, which is very needed.” We also established a scholarship endowment in Kutztown Area School District.
