Our club proudly supports local needs through fundraising, volunteer service, and community events. From helping those in need to supporting youth, health initiatives, and local causes, the Hunter River Lions Club is driven by a simple mission: to serve.

About Us
The Hunter River Lions Club is a long-standing community service organization based in Hunter River, Prince Edward Island (PEI). Established over 40 years ago (Chartered March 6, 1973), the club is part of the Lions Clubs International network, focused on local volunteerism and charitable support.
Community Impact & Activities
The club hosts numerous events to raise funds for local initiatives, including:
Fundraisers: Ongoing activities like Chase the Ace events and pancake breakfasts to support local programs like the Bluefield High School Step Up Program.
Charitable Donations: Collaborates with other regional Lions Clubs such as Cymbria and North Rustico to support the Prince County Hospital Foundation, Queen Elizabeth Hosptial Foundation, for medical equipment needs, neonatal sleepers, and spritual care.
Social Events: Organizes community dances, prize bingo nights, and memorial golf tournaments.
Presentations: We host educational presentations from organizations like MADD PEI, Mental Health
Community Support: For off island medical appointments, or those who are experiencing an illness.
Dog Guides of Canada: Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides empowers Canadians living with disabilities to navigate their world with confidence and independence, by providing a Dog Guide at no cost and supporting them in their journey together.
Portage: Fosters the strengths and skills of substance-dependent persons to enable them, through comprehensive and cost-effective interventions based on the therapeutic community approach, to live lives of sobriety, filled with dignity, self-respect, and accomplishment.
