Our members are different in many ways, but we share a core belief - our Community is what we make it. We help where help is needed. In short, we fulfill the Lions motto "We Serve".

Celebrating 80 Years of Community Service!

If you’re interested in volunteering, leading projects, networking and having fun – you can do all of this and more as a Lions Club member. As a Lion, you’ll perform local volunteer work to improve your community – and other communities around the world.

Our newest project is Adopt a Highway. Watch for us picking up litter along Hwy 169 between Hwy 62 and Excelsior Boulevard, as we make our contribution to a cleaner environment.

Hopkins Lions Club members make a difference in their community.
In 1943, the Hopkins Lions raised $8,000 to purchase and construct 76' of sandy beach shoreline at Shady Oak Beach. In 1971, 61 Hopkins Lions Club members funded and built the picnic shelter at Shady Oak Beach. The local clubs have purchased upgraded lighting for the Hopkins Activity Center and purchased equipment for the police and fire departments. The Club awards scholarships to local high school Seniors and contributes to numerous individuals in need of things from eyeglasses to medical equipment to leader dogs.

Lions have a dynamic history. Founded in 1917, we are best known for fighting blindness – it's part of our history as well as our work today. Locally we also perform volunteer work for many different kinds of community projects including: caring for the environment with a rain barrell project, feeding the hungry by collecting food donations for ICA, and aiding seniors and the disabled. Lions club members grow personally and professionally by participating in our programs, community service projects and events.
