A breif history of the Club

During 2002  Lion Suresh Saraff the then Extension Chairperson of our District 322F ,apporached a few of us to form a Club at Harirampur. We managed to convience 10 members and formed a Branch Club heading with LIon Rabindra Nath Daga as our Club Co-ordinator, which had been inaugarated  & inducted on 18th of May 2002 at Bidhan Manch, Raiganj by Lion Ashok Metha & Lion A P Singh respectively ,during the tenure of the then District Governor Lion G S Hora.

The Branch club did a lot of Activites in its short span of a year. Every member of the Branch did attend their 1st District Conference at Coochbear. We really had a very good time & exprience of our life. Then just exactally a year later we formed a full fledged Club with 21 members. This had been inagurated by the then District Governor Lion S C Jain. That very day we also inagurated a lot of Service projects , i.e 2 Oxygen cylinders, Mobile Drinking Water Tank, Traffic Stand , &  10 Road Hordings. Extensions

Our Club Sponsered  One Lions Club at Balurghat , named Balurghat Greater with 26 members, the only club at the Revenue District of Dakshin Dinajpur Head Quarters, and a LEO Club at Harirampur  Harirampur Leo Club with 25 memberss. Both the Clubs are running well.

      

 Our Clubs permanent projects are running very well. During the tenure of the DG Lion Nirmal Gidra our Club inaugurated the Eye Clinic. Since then it is running well, during his tenure we received an Ambulance from the LCIF funds received by the District with a matching fund of 50% contribution from our members, this too is running well. In the past few years we have added a few more permanent projects ,  We have opened two toilets and two tube wells at the Bus stand premises, being used properly. Erected a Entrance gate at the DAG College entrance. Erected Three Welcome hoardings at the last boundary points of Harirampur Block besides the road.

 

 Our club is organizing Eye Camps, Health Camps , Blood Donation Camps with the help of our Leo Club. Our Eye Clinic is running well giving services to the area. We have sent more than 200 patients for cataract operation in the past few years.
