​​NC State Convention 2021-2022 Greensboro

Greensboro Host Lions was the seventh club   chartered in North Carolina, September 27, 1922

We have proudly served many residents of Greensboro and Guilford County for over one hundred years (2022+), challenging ourselves to uphold our motto: WE SERVE.

One hundred Year Triva: Readers Digest, Velveteen Rabbit, and invention of the blender.

 

Greensboro Host Lions Club meets on the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month. (visit Calendar page for dates of meetings) at First Baptist Church, 1000 West Friendly Avenue. Members serve delicious lunch at 12.00 followed by a short business meeting.

Our 1st Zoom Meeting was 5/4/2020 with twelve members in attendance. 

 

Our club has several service projects each year. Collect food at local grocery store for community food pantry; feed homeless group at Greensboro Urban Ministry; walk in Greensboro Christmas Parade and give out candy to children; screening van for hearing & vision checks; collect used eyeglasses, hearing aids and phones for Camp Dogwood; co-host Christmas party for visible impaired Greensboro residents and family with Santa and gifts; sponsor PEACE POSTER and essay contest in middle schools; LEO's Club at Page High School; adoption of Gillespie Elementary (at risk school),  and clean up at Textile Park.
