The Glastonbury Centennial Lions Club is hosting ' Dead Meat' a Murder Mystery Dinner at the Manchester Country Club on Saturday March 21, 2026 from 6:00pm - 9:30pm. In December we held a Pancake Breakfast at the First Church of Christ where we served pancakes and sausage to many hungry partcipants.
In November and December we presented holiday cards to residents of the Residence @ Glastonbury, Salmon Brook Nursing Home, and Center Village. We have more planned for the upcoming holidays.
In October we participated at the Glastonbury Apple Fest where we helped out at the Havest Pub.
In September we participated in the annual Veterans Standdown event held at the Rocky Hill Veterans Home & Hospital. This event provides services to all veterans such as clothing, toiletries, blood pressure screenings, reading glasses, driver license and ID's, judicial services, information on guide dogs and many other services available to veterans. Our club donated 400 pairs of reading glasses and sunglasss that we received from the Oak St Stop & Shop, as well as 50 scarfs, clothing and toiletries that we received from our donation bin at the Riverfront Community Center. This is a rewarding event whether you are on the receivng or giving end.
Each month at our members meetings we collect items for the Glastonbury Food Pantry such as pasta, vegetables, mac & cheese, fruit, etc.. We also collect diapers for the Diaper Bank.
From April thru June we partnered with the Residence @ Glastonbury to collect used hearing aids that will be refurbished for future use.
On May 3rd, in conjunction with the Marlborough Lions Club and Orphan Grain Train, we held a very successful Durable Medical Equipment drive. So many crutches, walkers, CPAP machines, etc., were collected.
We filled the truck thanks to your donations!!

Hearing aids are collected in the same donation boxes as the eyeglasses.
Each year we collect over 2500 pairs of glasses for refurbishing and distribution to those in need.

Lions help during disasters. Together, our Foundation and Lions are helping communities following natural disasters by providing formmediate needs such as food, water, clothing and medical supplies – and aiding in long-term reconstruction.
Lions are active. Our motto is "We Serve." Lions are part of a global service network, doing whatever is necessary to help our local communities.
